Alexandre Lauzière ordered to pay $25,500

Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders Securities

Montréal – Mr. Justice André Perreault of the Court of Québec (Criminal and Penal Division), district of Montréal, ordered Alexandre Lauzière to pay a fine and costs in the amount of $25,500 and to do so within 60 months.

On October 3, 2006, Mr. Justice André Perreault had found Mr. Lauzière guilty of eight counts brought against him by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) for violating the Securities Act, R.S.Q., c. V1.1 (the “Act”), by:

  • proceeding with the distribution of the securities of Forex Canada NTS inc. without being registered with the AMF as a securities dealer, thereby violating section 148 of the Act (4 counts);
  • assisting Forex Canada NTS inc. with a securities distribution without a receipt from the AMF for a prospectus, thereby violating section 11 of the Act (4 counts).

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
