In August 2009, the Québec Minister of Finance asked the Autorité des marchés financiers (the “AMF”) to set up a task force with the mandate of recommending ways to reduce the risk of fraud to persons who require assistance in managing their assets (the “Task Force”). Fourteen stakeholder organizations participated in the Task Force.
