Hugo Lacroix has served as Interim Superintendent, Securities Markets since January 2019. He leads and mobilizes a team of some one hundred employees who oversee and supervise derivatives, investment funds, corporate finance transactions and market structures in Québec. In addition to this interim role, Hugo acts as Senior Director, Investment Funds, a position he has held since 2015.

Hugo’s management approach is open, energetic and accountability-based. He shares his principles of integrity and transparency in order to create team spirit conducive to achieving ambitious projects supporting the AMF’s strategic orientations.

Prior to his appointment as senior director, Hugo headed the Case Assessment and Cybersurveillance division. He joined the AMF as an investment fund analyst in September 2011.

Hugo holds a Bachelor of Laws and is a member of the Québec Bar. He began his career as legal counsel and chief compliance officer at various financial institutions and asset management firms. This experience fostered his sense of business ethics, which he honed by obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Applied Ethics.
