Andrée Mayrand was appointed to the Conseil consultatif de régie administrative (Advisory Board) of the Autorité des marchés financiers in February 2007, and in the spring of 2015, she was appointed to serve as chair by the Minister of Finance. She has acquired over twenty years' experience in the financial sector.
Ms. Mayrand, who is a graduate of HEC Montréal with a Master of Science in Administration, specialization in Applied Economics, began her career as a financial economist at the Economic Council of Canada and the federal Department of Finance. She subsequently focused on advisory services and the management of institutional assets in the private and public sectors, holding the positions of Director of Investments, Pension Funds, at Bombardier Inc. and Vice-President, Asset Management, at Aon Consulting (now Aon Hewitt). She is currently Director, Investment Management, for the pension plan and the endowment fund of the University of Montréal.
Ms. Mayrand has been a guest speaker at various conferences and has sat on the management committee of the Caisse commune des régimes de retraite de la Ville de Montréal (joint pension fund of the City of Montréal), the Pension Investment Board of the McGill University Pension Plan and the Investment Committee of the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation. She has also been a lecturer at HEC Montréal.
Ms. Mayrand is a certified corporate director, holding the designation of administratrice de société certifiée (ASC).
